Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Designer – Advanced Engine Systems & Additive Manufacturing

We’re looking for a Mechanical Designer to support the definition and development of advanced engine components through detailed 3D modeling, drafting, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.

What You’ll Do:

• Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using Siemens NX and Teamcenter in a linked model environment
• Define parts, modules, and assemblies with consideration for manufacturing, inspection, and cost constraints
• Collaborate with engineering and supply chain teams to determine proper fits, clearances, and geometric tolerances
• Lead technical design initiatives with full ownership of project scope, planning, and delivery timelines
• Support secure government programs by adhering to clearance protocols and access restrictions
• Save and manage applicable models to engine assemblies, maintaining design updates and data integrity
• Stay current with industry best practices in mechanical design and additive manufacturing
• Participate in business-wide simplification and continuous improvement initiatives

What You Bring:

• Associate's degree in drafting or related field, or 5 years in a CAD/product definition role
• Proficiency with Siemens NX and Teamcenter for design and data management
• Solid understanding of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5) and tolerance stack-ups in complex assemblies
• Experience working with additive manufacturing tools such as EOSPRINT or Concept Laser WRX
• Familiarity with model meshing and design analysis methods
• Ability to manage multiple design projects while meeting deadlines, cost, and quality goals
• Strong communication skills and a self-starting attitude
