The impact you will make:
Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Associate Manager, Supply Chain Logistics and Commercial Distribution to join our growing Supply Chain team. The Associate Manager, Supply Chain Logistics and Commercial Distribution will play a key role in managing transportation and logistics activities for domestic and international movements of API, Drug Product and Finished Goods. This role will support the technical operations group by providing cross functional insight into business strategy of how to reduce costs and supply risk.
What you will do:
- Manage transportation and logistics activities for domestic and international movements of API, Drug Product and Finished Goods between manufacturing sites and warehouses.
- Prepare and review Global Trade related shipping paperwork such as End Use Letters, Prototype Exemptions, Customs Invoices, USDA Statements, TCSA Statements, and Permits.
- Plan, execute, and track domestic and international shipments by maintaining close partnerships with Agios scientists, Agios Quality Assurance, contract manufacturers, and couriers.
- Inspecting shipping temperature monitoring data.
- Examine and reconcile ACE reports against shipment data.
- Manage courier service providers such as World Courier, and Yourway.
- Prepare and review Global Trade related shipping paperwork such as End Use Letters, Prototype Exemptions, Customs Invoices, USDA Statements, TCSA Statements, and Permits.
- Ensure necessary documentation, permits and/or licenses, are obtained and maintained.
- Establish, update, and maintain policies and procedures required to maintain good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good distribution practices (GDP) compliance in the storage, distribution and returns of clinical and commercial product.
- Partner with transportation providers, warehouses, and 3PLs to develop storage capabilities for commercial and clinical phase products.
- Develop and track appropriate logistics, 3PL and freight spend metrics to drive results and continuous improvement.
- Develop strategies to reduce costs and supply risk through disciplined examination, analytics, trending, and modeling of key operational data.
- Use Smartsheet to manage metric scorecards, relevant reports and KPI's for supply chain logistics and distribution activities which highlight achievements, performance gaps and improvement opportunities.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, business, or supply chain.
- 3 years of hands-on logistics experience in the pharmaceutical industry moving high value clinical and commercial drugs intended for Human Use.
- Strong comprehension of GMP/GDP regulations.
- US importation experience.
- Detail oriented which includes a capability and motivation to review the minutia of logistics paperwork.
- Ability to work cross-functionally to develop alignment across operational activities and present in front of small group.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, oral, and written communication skills, and ability to take ownership.
- Expertise in Smartsheet or similar collaboration and work management tools.
- Vendor management experience with a major pharmaceutical logistics provider such as World Courier, Yourway or FedEx Custom Critical.
- The ideal candidate will also be comfortable presenting in front of small groups, facilitating meetings and influencing without authority.
