Headquartered in Pigeon, Michigan, our family-owned corporation is focused on providing communication and technology services to rural Michigan communities, including those in the Thumb and Northern regions of the state.
Are you a Computer Repair professional looking for an opportunity with one of the Thumb area’s top employers? If so, AVCI has a current opening for a Tech Team Technician at our Sandusky, MI location. This position is primarily responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and installation of computer systems, software and networks. In this role, the technician is required to solve technical problems by diagnosing, installing, maintaining, repairing and upgrading computer equipment and systems and network hardware for customers. We support our customers in the office, at home and at local small and medium-size businesses.
Normal hours of this position are 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Compensation and our exceptional benefit package will be discussed during the initial interview. If you feel like you meet the qualifications of the position, please submit your resume for consideration.
- Troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software, and network issues for residential and commercial customers using a variety of tools for virus and malware detection, hardware failures, as well as methods to provide phone support, remote desktop support, in-office repairs, and on-site service calls.
- Installs computer/network equipment and data cabling, using basic hand and power tools in home, commercial, and outdoor settings.
- Creates estimates for computer repair and network installs – from basic hard drive replacements to complex point to multi-point network systems.
- Creates and maintains accurate records of time and material to ensure accuracy of the team’s inventory and billing systems.
- Provides service to walk-in customers for both retail sales and computer service.

- High School diploma or GED required. College degree in Computer Science or Technology preferred.
- Valid CompTIA A certification preferred. Company will sponsor certification for the right candidate.
- At least 1 year work experience in the computer repair field.
- Working knowledge of Windows OS, computer hardware and SOHO routers and switches.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods of time and work in tight spaces, including attics and crawl spaces.
- Occasionally works outside in a variety of weather conditions, including precipitation and temperature variations.
- Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
- Possess solid decision-making skills to be able to work independently
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively with strong attention to detail.
- Successfully complete pre-employment background screening.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicle within service area.
Salary : $38,700 - $49,000
