Pediatric Medical Assistant - Spanish speaking only
Busy pediatric office needs an experienced Medical Assistance in the pediatric field. Seeking someone with familiarity with current vaccine schedules, ability to work in a fast paced environment, and able to work with 4 providers and have excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Reports to Physician, Nurse Practitioner and/or Practice Director
- Perform medical assistant procedures under supervision of physician or nurse practitioner
- Assist Physician or Nurse Practitioner in exam rooms
- Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart
- Give instructions to patients as instructed by Physician or Nurse Practitioner.
- For bilingual medical assistants interpret all office visits between the patient and the provider and any other communication necessary between the provider and patient, including but not limited to phone calls and instructions for the parents.
- Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed and is available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
- Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
- Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to Physicians and Nurse Practitioner
- Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)
- All other duties as assigned by Physician, Nurse Practitioner or Practice Director
