We are in search of a Communications Coordinator to join our Marketing department in Spokane, Washington. This full-time position reports to the Director-Marketing Communications and will work collaboratively to develop and execute a social media and earned media strategy. This role serves as a writer and editor and collaborates on decisions regarding social media and earned media channels, approach and messaging.
The base salary range for this position is $51,404 - $79,676; bonus at target is 8% of salary
Job Requirements
- Collaborate with Marketing Team to develop social media content strategies, calendars and content to build AgWest brand and online presence, and support marketing and communications plans.
- Create and post engaging content on approved social media channels in coordination with business team stakeholders and business goals.
- Use available tools to monitor, listen and track online activity and mentions of AgWest; follow up and engage with or respond to AgWest social media comments, online reviews, mentions, etc. to ensure respectful and appropriate engagement. Elevate to senior leadership as appropriate.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Team to implement social media boosting and advertising campaigns.
- Collaborate with Marketing Team to develop a robust earned media strategy that promotes the AgWest brand, supports annual marketing plan priorities and aligns with business plan objectives.
- Serve as the primary media release distributor. Monitor media responses and coordinate company responses; maintain media contact lists, deploy communications, and monitor usage.
- Track performance and engagement of external communications including social media and news releases. Create and deliver a monthly report for senior leadership.
- Write and edit articles, website content, publications, news releases, web stories, customer and employee communications, announcements, industry reports, blogs, presentations, and staff biographies or profiles.
- Serve as back-up for internal communications channels including posting and editing other internal communications as needed.
- Monitor and evaluate social media and earned media communications trends and strategies/deliverables of competitors and other financial institutions and cooperatives; make recommendations as appropriate.
- Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English, Business Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Generally requires one to three years' experience in social media, media relations, public communications or corporate communications.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with the ability to proficiently edit content in alignment with a combination of AP and AgWest writing guidelines.
- Ability to gain trust and confidence among key stakeholders.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, think strategically and work proactively in a fast-paced, high-volume, creative and deadline-oriented environment.
- Effective organization, time and project management skills.
- Understanding of AP Style and ability to implement internal writing guidelines and brand voice.
Preferred Requirements
- Proficient in use of Sprout Social or other social media management platforms, or the ability to learn.
- Basic website posting and design skills to be able to independently develop on-brand social media content.
- Microsoft Office Suite or related software with a working knowledge of SharePoint.
- Experience working in the finance or banking industry.
