What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Video Producer position at Ahrefs?
We have a unique opportunity for a talented producer to flex their creative chops and take our industry leading YouTube channel to the next level. We’re looking for a strong storyteller to revamp and elevate the creativity, production quality, and entertainment value of our content.
You won’t be at it alone, either. You’ll receive YouTube specific guidance from the very same people here that have grown a channel to 10M subscribers & 5B views, using some of the most innovative creative formats.
We’re aiming to create engaging, informative, highly accessible and entertaining videos that will inform the average person on how they can take action to grow their businesses and expand their personal endeavors. We’re not looking to make super technical videos, we want to reimagine content that can inspire a wider audience.
What You’ll Do
In this brand-new role, you’ll have the opportunity to lead a whole new vertical of the company from the ground up.
As the Lead Producer of Ahrefs’s YouTube and digital media production, you’ll work closely with our technical experts to translate their deep insights into simple, engaging, and entertaining videos for YouTube – utilizing your storytelling and production skills to alchemize data and numbers into fascinating stories and engaging video formats.
You’ll ideate, write, shoot, edit, and work with our growing production team to scale a robust digital media presence for our brand. We want to create content that gets people talking, and we’ll be looking to you to be the driving force behind that effort.
You’ll learn about cutting edge marketing insights, real world business applications, and data tools that can make significant real world impact and broaden your own skills and capability as a producer and creative. It will be your job to turn these high level insights into digestible, highly captivating videos that will appeal to the broader public.
You should be comfortable being able to work autonomously as well as collaborating cross functionally with other departments internally, taking the initiative to build out our content pipeline and leading all efforts to grow our YouTube channel and produce aspirational content.
Basic Requirements
- 5 years of experience as a “preditor” (producer, director, editor), able to resourcefully create videos from scratch to finish with minimal supervision
- Proficient with Adobe Suite, including Premiere Pro
- Strong interest, curiosity, and passion for business and marketing
- Strong ability to translate complicated insights into simple, accessible language and highly entertaining video formats
- Ability to run autonomously and lead the building of a new digital media production department from scratch
- Must be willing to travel for shoots.
More Details
- Our offices are located near Boston. Must live within a 250mi radius (to be able to travel to and from Boston for shoots), or be willing to relocate accordingly.
- As we will likely be getting new offices in August, there will be ample opportunity for the Lead Producer to inform new production spaces that they will be in charge of.
- Basic video equipment will be provided, with more resources available by request.
