Description
The Hydraulic Bench Mechanic repairs, tests and troubleshoots hydraulic equipment, machines and components. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Reports to the Production Manager.
Responsibilities:
- All activities associated with the tear down and repair of hydraulic equipment, machines and components
- Assemble and test new assemblies and/or repaired products
- Welding as required
- Pick up and deliver machines/products from customers and/or suppliers
- As a representative of Airline Hydraulics, communicate professionally and effectively with customers, co-workers, vendors and sub-contractors, in an occasionally stressful environment.
- Work overtime as required to complete projects/assignments
- Assist on field projects as needed which may require travel
- Complete all training classes as assigned
- Perform other essential and related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- 1-3 years of experience repairing/troubleshooting hydraulic/industrial machinery
- Specialty training/certification in hydraulic equipment repair in addition to field experience is preferred
- The worker must have a complete set of tools and the mechanical skills to use them properly and safely
- General knowledge of pipe fittings, hose fittings, and their application and use
- Strong time management and organization skills. Must be able to work independently and successfully complete multiple assignments in a deadline driven environment
- Strong communication skills. Must be capable of using written and verbal communications to effectively convey plans and specific details to internal and external customers
