What’s the Job?
Apply technical engineering principals to the design of custom air handing equipment. Use computational analysis tools to make decisions on product design. Design and detail custom air handling products using 3D modeling software. Lead and participate in projects that relate to product development and many other facets of the business. Solve problems.
 
Position Requirements
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks, PDM, and Microsoft Office software
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks FEA and CFD analytical tools
  • Proficiency with Global Shop ERP
  • Organizational and scheduling skills
  • Ability to define, lead, contribute, and execute on a project within a managed timeline
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities with frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to process customer related orders in compliance with design standards
  • Ability to service other internal departments and manufacturing personnel
  • Ability to solve problems, think critically, and pay attention to details
  • Ability to take measurements and record data
  • Ability to Communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers, customers, and vendors
  • Must be very motivated to succeed no matter the circumstances
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
 
Physical Requirements
This position is normally performed in an office environment.  Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Shop floor work is also required occasionally. Must be able to lift 50lbs occasionally, and able to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms.
Noise level is usually low but can be significantly higher during shop floor work.
 
Job Duties & Skills
To be successful in this job with AirPro, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Fan Design
    • Design fans for production per the AirPro ISO 9001 standard
    • Create and draft all necessary shop drawing to execute on technically challenging and custom fan orders.
    • Solve manufacturing and process challenges related to specific custom orders
    • Communicate with vendors, customers, and coworkers to get the right information to meet the design intent
    • Deliver design content accurately and on time
  • Engineering analysis
    • Use engineering principles and tools (like FEA) to perform virtual anaysis on fan related applications
    • Use engineering principles and tools to perform fan specific analysis including bearing analysis, critical speed analysis, and a variety of mathematic calculations using standard procedure
    • Use engineering principles, standard procedures, and tools (like calibrated microphones & manometers) to perform physical anaysis on fans and related equipment
 
  • Projects
    • Develop new project ideas in the form of a project definition
    • Pitch project ideas to the R&D team and executive group
    • Schedule projects, develop project teams, and coordinate resources (internal and external)
    • Manage project timelines, resources, and execute on specifics to accomplish project goals
    • Clearly communicate project status (KPI’s) on a routine basis
    • Complete projects according to their scope and any addendums written during the process.
    • Report project findings/effectiveness/results in the form of a project wrap document
    • Develop tools and train coworkers to execute using the results of a project
    • Handoff responsibility for project deliverables when applicable
  • Effectively communicate with coworkers, vendors, and customers to accomplish tasks and goals
  • strong self-motivation and a positive attitude. Consistent drive towards continuous improvement and organizational goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
