What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitor - 3rd Shift position at Ajinomoto Foods North America?
Position Summary
Responsible for cleaning and supplying designated areas. Other responsibilities include picking up trash, vacuuming carpets, mopping floors, cleaning around work areas, wiping up spills and sanitizing bathrooms.
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Cleaning facility and equipment in proper sequence, and in a timely manner enabling pre-op inspections and set-up to begin on time.
- Apply chemical for cleaning, degreasing, and sanitizing using sprayers and hoses.
- Apply hot water wash down (temperature 120-140 degrees), hose down equipment, floors, wall, etc..
- Clean drains in plant area
- Covers sensitive equipment with plastic for protections
- Use the proper chemical for the job and at the specified rate.
- Ability to operate all sanitation equipment – including but not limited to high-pressure hoses, chemical foaming unit, titration testing equipment.
- Assist with re-assembly of machine(s) for start-up.
- Tasks will vary as situations and demands change; the lead/supervisor will assign tasks as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- Must be able to push, pull, reach in place, bend and use proper lifting techniques.
- Must have general knowledge of equipment used in designated area.
- Ensures all procedures follow GMP’s governmental regulations as well as the Company’s policies and procedures.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend, and move about the work environment, plants, or offices. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Lifting requirements are up to 75 lbs. Exposure to loud industrial-type environments is commonly found in plants. Varied temperatures from hot and humid to very cold.
