Overview

This role has ownership in the purchasing operations of the Parts Warehouses in the Eddyville complex. This position is responsible for processing requisitions on time for maintenance parts, maintenance services, and fertilizer.  Schedule is Monday - Friday (8 hour days).

Qualifications

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-year degree in Business/Acct., Ind. Maintenance or equivalent job-related experience required
  • 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience is required
  • Experience with parts procurement required
  • Computer, SAP, Emaint knowledge required 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Moderate computer skills (Microsoft Office, SAP, EMaint, MRP, etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of industry, equipment, and parts
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work extended hours as necessary
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Ability to maintain effective communication across all departments

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

WORKING CONDITIONS: Fast paced bioprocess/chemical manufacturing maintenance environment working both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures. This position may perform activities in an environment that contains hazardous elements and requires safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines. Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team members. All safety procedures, procedures described in SOPs, JHAs, and support the compliance of applicable ISO standards in all functional areas must be followed, enforced, and strictly complied with.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:• Sitting, standing, walking, repetitive use of hands/arms/legs, and eye/hand coordination for 4 hours a day• Occasional bending, reaching overhead, crouching, balancing, pushing or pulling• Occasional lifting of 50 lbs. or less• Ability to operate cars, trucks, forklifts and other powered equipment and tools• Ability to use respirators with knowledge of chemicals• Use of required personal protective equipment in the manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

Compliance, Policies and Procedural Support

  • Ensure compliance of Company policies including safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Work in a safe manner at all times (i.e. wear proper personal protective equipment)
  • Always work in an environmentally responsible manner
  • Know and understand all quality specifications and guidelines
  • Actively participate in Company programs and committees as needed
  • Attend all required Company training sessions
  • Fill out proper permits when necessary 

M&E Purchasing Operations

  • MRP purchasing review and execution
  • Processing requisitions
  • Identify primary and secondary suppliers based upon price, quality, risk, and service
  • Direct communication of purchase arrangements with the vendor
  • Review and coordinate emergency deliveries
  • Advise of changes in market conditions/supplier activity which could affect pricing/delivery
  • Assist in parts requirement identification for non-MM parts (MM=SAP Material Master)
  • Assist with parts requirement sourcing for non-MM parts
  • Assist in scheduling of non-MM and rotables repairs
  • Assist with parts warehouse SAP activities.
  • Assist with fiscal year financial audits and final fiscal inventory requirements
  • Assist with functional bin locations and parts organization
  • Daily coverage for technician duties when necessary

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other departments within the company to accomplish tasks/goals as needed
  • Suggest/implement process improvement, cost down, or best practice ideas
  • Continually strive for increasing processing efficiencies
  • Complete 5S activities to keep the work area clean and organized
  • Coordinate work with Contractors/Production when necessary
