Description
The Food and Beverage Operations Assistant Supervisor is responsible for providing direct program and operational support to all Food Service locations throughout the Akron Zoo. The position will also support catering functions.
The Food and Beverage Operations Assistant Supervisor will assist with training new team members, monitoring supplies at stations, verifying cash drawers and provides assistance to staff. The assistant supervisor will devote at least 75 percent of their time in operations, supporting and training staff as they prepare food and serve guests.
The position will provide administrative support in managing payroll, scheduling, and ensuring training logs are up-to-date and food safety standards upheld.
The assistant supervisor will assist with hiring staff and has the authority to coach and discipline staff when necessary. Responsible for assigning work, he/she/they will work with staff to ensure the zoo’s quality of food and focus on customer experience is upheld.
Position works Tuesday – Saturday and will be required to work evenings, weekend and holidays as necessary to support food service operations during special events and facility rentals.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years customer service experience and 1 year leadership experience preferred.
Position is full-time, salaried non-exempt.
