```Duties```
- Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses based on their prescription and personal preferences
- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features to ensure proper fit of eyewear
- Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and frame styles to help them make informed decisions
- Adjust and repair eyewear as needed to ensure proper fit and function
- Maintain inventory of eyeglass frames, lenses, and contact lenses
- Process orders for eyewear and contact lenses, including verifying prescriptions and insurance coverage
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
```Qualifications```
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in opticianry preferred
- Previous experience as an optician or in a similar role strongly preferred
- Knowledge of optical principles, including lens materials, coatings, and frame styles
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to ophthalmology and optometry
- Proficiency in using optical equipment for measurements and adjustments
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record information
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to customers
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to handle confidential patient information appropriately
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems (Epic) for managing patient records
- Basic understanding of anatomy related to the eye and vision correction
Note: Retail management experience or knowledge of retail math is a plus but not required for this position.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
