Akua Mind & Body, the leader in Holistic Drug and Alcohol Treatment, is now hiring a chef.
- Work Schedule: Full-time; 8:30am-5pm; Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (with potential for overtime as needed)
- Pay Rate: Negotiable within the range of $22-$26 per hour
Essential Qualifications:
- Food Handlers Certification
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- TB Test Screening
- Live Scan Fingerprinting
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Valid Driver's License
- 3 years of experience as a prep chef, line cook, catering, or private/personal chef
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience in catering and menu development
- Proficiency in preparing multiple cuisines, including special diets such as, but not limited to, vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten-free, low-sodium, and diabetic
- Familiarity with residential healthcare kitchen settings
- Comfort working independently and demonstrating excellent communication skills
- Dependability and the ability to work weekends (mandatory)
- Ability to stand for extended periods
The Role:
In this role, you'll play a crucial part in our team, assisting the Head Chef in crafting and preparing flavorful, nutritious meals for our residents. You'll be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
- Prepping and cooking various dishes according to our menus and resident needs
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment
- Following food safety and hygiene protocols
- Contributing to menu development and recipe testing
- Providing excellent service to residents and staff
- Meal delivery
