Al Pastor Taqueria in Montclair, CA is hiring for a Part-Time "Assistant Shift Leader" position!
As an "Assistant Shift Leader" at Al Pastor Taqueria you will be fully trained and equipped to work any station. This position will require unrestricted, full availability. This position is also subject to a 90 day probation period.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Shift Leader and Managers with staff, managing, taking out orders, customer service and supervising. We'll provide the training you need to provide excellent customer service and feel comfortable working at any station - grill, cashier, prep, salsa, etc. You will be hands on in connecting with customers, fellow team members, cooks and keeping the restaurant clean and looking fantastic!
Tasks required and not limited to:
- Take customer orders.
- Prepare customer orders.
- Make handmade tortillas.
- Assist restaurant team members and customers at all times.
- Assist kitchen staff and prep.
- Responsible for Opening/MidDay/Closing procedures
- Clean grill, hood, equipment, etc.
- Supervise and train of new staff.
- Delegate and assign tasks.
- Implement and follow a cleaning schedule.
- Assist with scheduling, ordering, inventory, cost and waste control...
Availability Requirement: Weekdays and Weekends
Qualifications:
- 18yr old
- Responsible, punctual & dedicated
- Willingness to learn (how to cook and expand knowledge in the restaurant industry)
- Passionate about helping team members and providing excellent customer service
- Friendly and outstanding attitude
- Able to work in a fast paced environment and readily acceptable to change work priorities at any time to different stations.
- Ability to work unsupervised and independently

Experience:
- Previous management experience: (Required)
- Fast Casual Restaurant : 1 year (Required)
- Food Handlers Certificate: (Required)
- Strong supervisory skills, capable of motivating, leading and developing associates. (Required)
