What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Access Lead position at AL Solutions?

We're looking for a Patient Access Lead to join a fast-growing biopharma company focused on improving the lives of patients with rare diseases.


In this role, you’ll serve as the main point of contact for patients and healthcare providers, helping them navigate reimbursement, insurance, and treatment logistics. You'll work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to ensure patients get the support they need—quickly and compassionately.


Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for patients and providers in your assigned region
  • Enroll patients into support programs and guide them through benefit verification and prior authorization
  • Coordinate with specialty pharmacies and training partners to ensure timely treatment access
  • Help patients understand and apply for financial assistance
  • Track and manage patient files, renewals, and case documentation
  • Respond to inquiries via phone, email, chat, or SMS
  • Visit provider offices as needed to resolve access or reimbursement challenges
  • Stay up to date on compliance policies and communicate changes internally
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to solve patient access issues


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or over 6 years of experience in patient support services
  • Experience supporting U.S. product launches; rare disease experience a strong plus
  • Familiarity with specialty pharmacies, payers, and reimbursement processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth understanding of U.S. compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
