Mountain View Baptist Church, located in Union Grove, in Marshall County, Alabama is prayerfully seeking to fill the position of part-time senior pastor to lead and guide the church to the next level of ministry for our members and community. We are a Southern Baptist church, rooted in faith, fellowship, and the desire to expand our reach and impact within and beyond our community. We are a small congregation with an average of 50 to 60 people, with a great capacity to grow our children, youth, and young adult prospects.

- Must be a follower of Jesus capable of communicating a personal testimony of faith, with a devotion to daily Biblical study, personal spiritual growth, and daily
- Possess commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a deep understanding of the Bible, Christian theology, and the Southern Baptist tradition.
- Must meet Biblical guidelines for an overseer/pastor/elder as outlined in Scripture including, but not limited to, the qualifications listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4. Adhere to and align with the current Southern Baptist doctrine (Faith and Message).
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience leading ministry as a senior minister, associate pastor, or another complimentary role, with a proven history of effective leadership, ministry development, and community outreach.
- Have a minimum bachelor’s degree; master’s-level or higher seminary degree in theology or biblical studies from an evangelical Christian college preferred. The church may consider other training experiences which would qualify a person to pastor and administer a Southern Baptist church. While formal education and previous pastoral experience are preferred, Mountain View Baptist Church is first and foremost seeking a pastor who, like David the shepherd, is a man after God’s own heart.
- Possess strong communication skills, both in preaching and interpersonal relationships.
- Have a heart and a passion for community outreach, volunteer development, discipleship, and evangelism.
- Proclaim the Word of God through Biblical-based sermons, in a regular pulpit ministry on Sunday morning worship and Wednesday nights Bible study to approximately fifty regular attendees, to inspire, equip, and disciple believers and that lead unbelievers to follow Christ.
- Work with the Body of Deacons, ministerial staff, support staff, and lay leaders in both formal and informal settings. Perform duties in accordance with the church’s by-laws. Provide direction for the church programs.
- Provide leadership and vision for the church. Direct strategic plans for ministry and church growth. Manage multiple priorities, organize events, and work effectively under pressure.
- Motivate, equip, and nurture the people of the church through example,

- Conduct and aid the contact/visitation of hospitalized or grieving church members to provide compassionate and empathetic support in times of need.
