What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optician position at Alabama Eye Clinic?
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses
- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features
- Interpret prescriptions written by optometrists or ophthalmologists
- Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance
- Adjust and repair eyeglasses as needed
- Maintain accurate and organized medical records
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in eyewear technology
Requirements:
- Aseptic technique knowledge for maintaining a clean and sterile environment
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Proficient in managing medical records and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the eye and vision
- Excellent retail sales skills to effectively communicate with customers and provide exceptional service
- Familiarity with retail math for pricing, discounts, and promotions
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy is protected
- Sales experience to promote products and increase revenue
- Familiarity with Epic or other electronic health record systems is preferred

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
