What are the responsibilities and job description for the Curriculum Developer position at Alakaina Family of Companies?

The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a need for a Curriculum Developer to support our government customer located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (AFB) in Dayton, Ohio.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with activities of Public Health Education Division creation of curriculum. Serves as a subject matter expert for the creation of Public Health Education training.
  • Creates Comprehensive Medical Readiness Program (CMRP) training, documents, and references.
  • Develops and updates initial and advanced course curriculum as the needs of the Public Health career field dictate (includes but not limited to IDMT training curriculum, Career Development Courses, In-service training, Student Study and Field Guides, etc.).
  • Designs Public Health lesson plans using Instructional System Development methodology.
  • Act as a conduit for base level technicians to provide feedback for the development and innovation of course material. Develops curricula for all scheduled/assigned lessons in Public Health Apprentice, Contingency Preventive Medicine, Operational Entomology, Hearing Conservation Certification, Hearing Conservation Re-certification, workshops (Community Health, Force Health Management, Public Health Management, Military Audiology), Public Health Mid-level manager, and Public Health Officer Courses.
  • Analyze emerging operations and research new training principles for the garrison and deployed Public Health mission. Liaise with base level technicians within CONUS and OCONUS areas of responsibility to determine training deficiencies and best practices to modernize enlisted and officer training.
  • A rating of acceptable must be achieved for all course related documents evaluated by USAFSAM/ED protocols with no more than two minor formatting and one minor text error will be found in any course documentation.
  • Research and develop advanced Deployment Health Preventive Medicine documents, training, and exercises to support combatant command requirements as defined Joint Expeditionary Scope of Practice Environmental Health/Preventive Medicine Technician and applicable and AF policy and training requirements.
  • Research and develop advanced Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) skills enhancement training to ensure operational readiness and mission capabilities to ascertain, interpret, and apply qualitative/quantitative exposure data in the development of Public Health (PH) Risk Assessments (RA) and risk communication principles.
  • Develop tabletop and field exercises to support enterprise readiness continuum of learning and standardization of practices across the enterprise.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Possess an Associate’s Degree in Public Health with 5 years of experience within a public health related field and possess project Management experience and/or certification.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Possess demonstrated experience utilizing the Microsoft Office suite of tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
  • Possess an understanding of Team Aerospace mission and partners.
  • Possess an understanding of the Public Health deployment/readiness mission.
  • Possess an understanding of Preventive Medicine CBRN response.
  • Possess project management experience.
  • Possess the ability to gather, analyze and present facts & communicate effectively.
  • Possess skills in fact-finding, problem analysis, problem resolution, and development of concrete action plans to solve problems.
  • Possess the ability to independently research applicable DoD, DHA, AF references/policy in the development of CBRN/Prev Med training, presentations, job aids, and exercises.
  • Experience working in a military environment.
  • Must be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior Air Force military experience is preferable.
  • Possess Public Health Deployments/Humanitarian mission experience.
  • Possess prior formal training background (T-prefix).
  • Possess an understanding of the Air Force, DHA organizational construct.
  • Possess demonstrated experience in applying qualitative/quantitative data in the development of sound health risk assessments, mission orientated protective posture (MOPP) recommendations.
  • Possess Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) associated with Public Health (PH) CONUS and OCONUS Risk Assessments associated with Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) and Deployment Health Preventive Medicine operations.
  • Possess demonstrated experience utilizing AF Public Health Installation Home station Response 886P instrumentation/equipment package.
  • Possess advanced skills in utilizing equipment authorized or required to be used in Public Health offices, i.e., outbreak investigation tools, mosquito traps, and food inspection materials. Requires experience utilizing health-related databases and conducting health surveillance.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to pass a Tier 1 (SF85) background check.
