What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistician position at Alakaina Family of Companies?
The Alaka’ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Logistician to provide technical support to our customer, Program Manager Training Systems (PM TRASYS) out of Orlando, FL.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide the expertise to identify and address the 12 IPS elements during system design, acquisition, fielding, sustainment, and disposal. This includes performing various analysis and reviewing acquisition documentation for technical content and accuracy, as well as acquisition and logistics policy and procedures.
- Chair or co-chair key logistics events and meetings that pertain to workforce development, process improvements and special projects.
- Deliverables shall be logistically organized and be written in concise straightforward English.
- In addition, directly assist, and in some instances represent, the APM for Logistics/Product Support Manager in participating in Milestone Assessment Team meetings, Program Management Reviews, and Integrated Product Team meetings.
- Participate in fielding and M6785423R8027 provisioning conferences and other meetings as required as the logistics subject matter expert.
- Accurately and completely provide logistics support in accordance with DoD 4160.21M, DoDI 5000.02, SECNAVINST 5000.2G, and MCO 5311.1E, and other government policy and procedures as applicable.
- Prepare, draft, update, and review program IPS documents in support of the program’s IMS/IMP. All IPS documentation shall be in accordance with the latest govern policy, procedures, and templates. Logistics documentation includes, but is not limited to the following items: Life Cycle Sustainment Plan, Marine Corps Simplified Acquisition Management Plan, Fielding Plan, Disposal Plan, IUID Plan, SL-3, Supply Instruction
- Provide acquisition logistics subject matter expertise in monthly IPTs via videoconference, teleconference, or face-to-face meetings at a mutually agreeable times and locations.
- Assist in developing and updating presentations, status reports, and briefs; provide expertise to address IPS inquiries and action item resolution; and support government property audit requirements.
- Develop innovative/creative best practices concerning IPS and property accountability.
- Provide recommendations and initiatives for process improvements to help reduce total ownership costs, eliminate waste, and foster efficiencies. This includes, but not limited to, analyzing, and recommending various processes pertaining to integrated product support, sustainment, government property, inventory management, configuration management, supply chain management, and warranty management. assist in drafting policy, processes, and procedures.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a postgraduate degree in acquisition logistics, logistics or business management or administration
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of five (5) years of acquisition logistics or government program office experience
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to organize and deliver logistics deliverables in concise straightforward English is desired.
- Solid working knowledge of subject matter is desired.
- Ability to work under general supervision is desired.
- Ability to handle moderately complex issues and problems, and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff is desired.
- Ability to provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication and computer skills are preferred.
- Mathematical, analytical thinking, statistical, and problem-solving skills are desired.
- Experience with Global Combat Support System (GCSS) and/or Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) is desired.
- Experience with provisioning, assigning National Stock Numbers (NSNs) and birthing records is desired.
- Familiarity with fielding plans, disposal plans, and Item Unique Identification (IUI) Plans is desired.
REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must have an active Secret clearance.
