Hours : 40 hours per week

Salary Range : $30-35 / hour

FLSA Classification : Non-Exempt

AFS Classification : Regular Full-Time

Divisions include : Early Childhood & Family Support, School Based Services, Crisis Services and Clinic and Community Based Behavioral Health Care (Counseling and a Clinical Training Program). OVERVIEW OF POSITION

This AFS Therapist will provide multi-site services in Alameda in partnership with Village of Love (VOL) an exceptional program that provides support to unhoused residents in the City of Alameda. The AFS Therapist will work as a member of a highly committed Care Team offering individual and group therapy to residents using a strength-based, trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approach. The AFS Therapist also works collaboratively with VOL staff to assist with crisis de-escalation and provides milieu support. Clinical supervision and training will be conducted at the Alameda Family Services’ headquarters in Alameda.

JOB DUTIES :

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Provide Intake assessments and develop treatment goals
• Provide individual, couples, family and group therapy, utilizing best practices including motivational interviewing, harm reduction, cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness based interventions using a trauma-informed approach
• Provide crisis de-escalation support as needed
• Maintain client records and data as required by Alameda Family Services and funding sources by deadlines
• Navigate and develop strong working relationships with Village of Love (VOL) staff
• Collaborate with VOL case managers and staff to support client’s goals and well being
• Provide consultation on site to VOL staff regarding clinical needs of clients Provide meditation between residents and between residents and staff as needed
• Provide referrals and linkages to higher level county psychiatric care
• Attend and participate in Alameda Family Service’s individual and group supervision with clinical supervisor, Division Director
• Attend case conferences and other AFS meetings / events as designated by Division Director
• Attend outside (non-AFS facilitated) meetings and trainings as assigned and scheduled
• Other duties as assigned by the Division Director

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

PHYSICAL JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Ability to sit for at least 75% of the time and stand for 25%.

2. Ability to travel between multiple locations to provide services as needed. 3. Ability to use a desktop computer is required.

4. Lifting of books, manuals, and other documents weighing up to 30 pounds may be encountered in performing essential functions.

5. Ability to transport self between site and agency locations

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

1. A background check and clearance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Department of Justice (DOJ) background prior to employment is required. 2. A Health Screening Report completed by a physician and current TB Test Results are required prior to employment.
