Medical Front Desk/Receptionist
We are a busy Ophthalmic practice in midtown with an opening for a Front Desk/Receptionist. We are looking for a professional, motivated multitasker who enjoys working with children. This position is considered the first point of contact to customers; it is of utmost importance to be polite & well-spoken. Medical terminology and familiarity are preferred but not a necessity.
General Duties Include:
- Answer phone calls, schedule patient appointments
- Cancel and reschedule patient appointments
- Collect and verify necessary demographic and insurance information
- Confirm pending appointments
- Serves as liaison between patient and medical staff
- Assist medical records with filing, faxes and release of information requests
- Additional administrative duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Medical office experience
- Basic office skills: to include computer skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of electronic medical records
- Knowledge of HIPAA
