Part Time Custodian

Albany Community School is seeking a PT Custodian. The PT Custodian will be responsible for maintaining the operation and appearance of the school and grounds to a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency. Salary and benefits commensurate with experience. The hours of work are 4:00 AM to 7:00 AM and an occasional afternoon when needed. Hours during school breaks, may increase. Qualifications: 1.High school diploma or equivalent. 2.Knowledge of regulations on maintenance of public school facilities. 3.Knowledge of cleaning, sanitation and recycling procedures. 4.Responsible, self-directed and dependable work habits and excellent time management skills. 5.Good interpersonal skills with staff, students, administration, board, community, vendors and technical service providers. 6.Working knowledge of school policy and procedures, including confidentiality code. 7.Physical capacity to sufficiently to perform required duties. 8.Availability for response to building needs on weekends, holidays and evenings, as may be needed. Performance Responsibilities: 1.Maintains the interior of the school including vacuuming classroom rugs and the hallways. Mop the floors when needed and use the floor machine to scrub all vinyl floors. 2.Maintains the exterior of the school including playground equipment, snow removal and salting on the sidewalks during the days the building is in use. 3.Sets up and take down tables for breakfast. Then cleans the gym floor afterwards. 4.Manages recycling and assists in taking out the trash. 5. Clean ashes from boilers once a week. 6. Work with the Head Custodian on projects in the building and outside when needed. there will be work during summer vacation, holiday breaks, and other school vacations throughout the year. 7. Occasionally work in the afternoons to support Head Custodian. 8. Completes other related tasks and duties as assigned.
