Job Description

Albemarle is hiring for a Maintenance Mechanic III. This position is onsite and located in Silver Peak, NV.

What You Will Do

• Completes all applicable permits and job walk-downs for Maintenance and Contractor work (i.e., Lockout/Tag-out, Safe Work, Confined Space Entry, Line Break, etc.).
• Enter near miss or incident reports into Safety database. Takes appropriate action to resolve then provides information to enable root cause analysis through an incident investigation.
• Responsible for entering production data into VDBs, log/batch sheets, databases, and systems (SAP).
• Performs all station shift operation and maintenance, including startup and shutdown of main plant components and auxiliaries.
• Respond to abnormalities and take corrective actions consistent with established operating procedures and good engineering practices.
• Conducts routine tours of the plant to inspect equipment and provide feedback to other employees.
• Maintains accuracy of shift operating logs, records, time sheets, work orders and other administrative documents related to the site.
• Performs routine cycle chemistry testing and makes the necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency. Checks daily consumption rates of chemicals, gasses, fuels, water, and other consumables; monitors inventories and initiates action to replenish when appropriate.
• Performs mechanical inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks under the direction of Management when assigned.
• Investigates plant problems, incidents, accidents, and unusual events, and provides analyses, recommendations, reports, and appropriate follow-up plans.
• Reads and records gauges and meters. Performs routine operational tests and adjustments on all power plant systems and components as required.
• Develops, assists, and revises operations and maintenance related procedures.
• Performs and maintains good housekeeping standards and related duties.
• Performs routine preventative and predictive maintenance on all systems and equipment; supports corrective maintenance efforts on selected equipment when properly trained or supervised.

What You Bring

Required:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 5 Plus years of experience in a chemical or mining field
• Working knowledge of utility and power plant mechanical and electrical equipment, including Chillers, motors, pumps, fluid systems, chemical handling, waste-water treatment systems, centrifugal air compressors, AC and DC electrical distribution and control systems, etc.
• Knowledge of power plant safety policies and procedures, especially in areas such as chemical handling, high-energy systems, confined spaces, first aid, rotating machinery, and heavy equipment
• Knowledge of and ability to understand fundamental principles related to physics, mathematics, AC & DC electrical theory, heat transfer and fluid flow, thermal-dynamics, and chemistry.
• Knowledge of and experience in mechanical maintenance, rigging, rotating machine repair, fabrication, machine alignment, basic vibration analysis, and using electrical test equipment
• It is crucial to the outcome of the job tasks that the employee can: Talk and hear; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms extensively.
