Job Overview:
This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Web Strategy. An experienced marketer, the Strategic Communication Manager contributes to the over-arching brand strategy and creates compelling multimedia concepts across all of the Colleges platforms. Gifted with storytelling capabilities, this person sees the big picture and is able to communicate and produce via practical application in creative and effective ways, leveraging technology for maximum reach. (S)he supports the broader MarCommWeb Team through collaborative work that increases brand awareness, drives engagement, supports enrollment goals, and integrates with the needs of various College departments. Serves as a steward for brand integrity.
Essential Functions:
Supports brand strategy across multiple departments and platforms (including but not limited to email, blogs, social media, web, publications, digital, and internal media) in keeping with the latest trends and best practices
Provides creative vision and produces marketing campaigns through conception, production, and art direction (either by directive or independently according to established brand standards)
Works alongside vendors to deliver award-winning video, publications, and photography
Contributes story ideas to, writes articles for, and edits alumni magazine
Develops and maintain an integrated marketing calendar and other project management tools
Supports the broader MarCommWeb responsibilities, including writing, designing, video production, contributing ideas, and event support
Assists in the planning, promotion, and execution of special events
Qualifications:
Extensive hands-on experience with proven ability to write, edit, design, and conceptualize multimedia projects (must provide samples)
Expert level in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Suite, and Google Suite
Experience working with social media platforms including HootSuite, Facebook Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube
Strong understanding and application of marketing trends that integrate brand strategy across multiple departments and platforms
Ability to produce as directed or art direct independently as necessary, depending on the project
High level of aesthetic sense, critical eye, and attention to detail
HTML familiarity is a plus
Ability to see the big picture and think strategically while producing in the weeds on aggressive deadlines
Must be able to anticipate needs and deliver timely, relevant solutions and actions
Possesses exceptional client service skills; serves as Marketing consultant for all departments across campus
Capable of developing rapport and relationships with all levels of employees and working efficiently with team collaboration to influence impactful marketing campaigns
Superior organizational skills
Independent, detail-oriented, creative, task-prioritizing, flexible, adaptive, proactive, discreet
Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
A demonstrated track record of success and good judgment in planning and implementing the market strategy
Experience leading a team of vendors from project concept to completion
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience in higher education preferred but not required
Experience with corporate communications, public relations, and community relations preferred
Spanish proficiency is a plus, but not required
Special Work Schedule Requirements:
Office environment, although work will occur across campus. Standard working hours; position requires some evening and weekend hours.

Full-time employees are eligible to receive medical, dental, and vision benefits. Full-Time employees can earn between 18-23 paid time off a year. The employer covers tuition remission after 90 days of employment and covers 100 % (employees responsible for books and technology fees). The college is committed to work-life balance and has a summer schedule from June through August. We currently have 14 paid holidays, including a winter break. You will have the opportunity to participate in our retirement plan from day one, and after one year of employment, the college contributes depending on your service years.
