As a Legal Counsel IP Director, supporting the Vision Care Franchise, you will be trusted to work on ophthalmic materials from our Fort Worth, TX location.
In this role, a typical day will include:

Collaborating with internal clients, including senior management, on patentability, enforcement, validity, freedom-to-operate, and IP strategy.

Identifying and leading IP opportunities and risks related to new product development.

Leading and supporting IP collection projects, patent committees, and training sessions.
-
Mining for, preparing, and prosecuting patent applications.

Providing legal counsel and support for BD&L, litigation, and development activities.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
-
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school 18 yrs; Assoc. 14 yrs; M.S. 7 yrs; PhD 3 yrs)

The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.

10 Years of Validated Experience, 5 years confirmed ability prosecuting and handling patent matters.

Member of a state bar in good standing.

Registered to practice before the United State Patent and Trademark Office.

Expertise in patent laws and procedures (including IPRs and Oppositions before the EPO), patent scope analysis, patent drafting and prosecution, and patent portfolio strategy.
