FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME BUS DRIVER- NO CDL REQUIRED
JOB SUMMARY
- Responsible for safely transporting residents to and from arranged locations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Have a high school education or equivalent.
- Possess an unencumbered driver’s license.
- Possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Has knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote and ensure safe transport at all times.
- Must possess current CPR certification or become certified within ninety (90) days of employment.
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, family members, personnel, and support agencies.
- Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
- Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, young, emotionally upset and at times, hostile people.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, resident in excess of fifty (50) pounds throughout the day.
- Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to the (HIV) AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Follow safety rules as residents board and exit the bus or near cross streets near bus stops.
- Complies with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe manner,
- Checks the condition of the vehicle at least monthly and reports any malfunctions or necessary repairs as needed.
- Maintains order among passengers while in transit.
- Picks up and/or drops off residents at scheduled locations while following strict time schedules.
- Maintains cleanliness of the interior of the vehicle at all times.
- Attends community outings as assigned by the Administrator and/or designee.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
