Job Summary:
The Associate Scientist II, Upstream Process Development (USPD) in Technical Operations is responsible for duties related to protein expression, in support of our development and manufacturing services. This role will mostly focus on activities related to upstream expression, but may also support downstream activities.

Responsibilities:
Complete all assigned laboratory work, including execution, analysis, and reporting of protein expression projects
Effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary scientists on development and manufacturing projects and play an integral role on project teams
Express recombinant protein in microbial and mammalian systems
Prepare and analyze in-process and final samples using methods including, but not limited to: SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, Concentration Assay and small-scale purifications.
Share project data during client or internal meetings

Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in biology, biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or a closely related field with 2 years of relevant work experience
Bachelor’s degree in biology, biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or a closely related field with 0-2 years of relevant work experience
Experience with typical protein analytical testing
Experience with microbial lysis systems and depth filtration
