Alers Law Firm is a high-performing private practice focused on delivering results in complex family law matters. We’re growing and looking for an experienced Family Law Paralegal who can immediately support our attorneys with minimal direction. Job Responsibilities
- Drafting petitions, and pertinent documents associated with Family Law.
- Research
- Interact with attorneys, clients, and judicial contacts.
- Experience with Client Billing and Time Entries.
- Scheduling court hearings, depositions, mediations, conferences, trial preparation.
- Knowledge/Monitoring of electronic filings with the court (State of Florida e-filing portal).
- Prioritize and assign cases, monitor workload, and production to ensure completion of tasks assigned and deadlines.
- Oversee the status of cases through the utilization of case management and billing systems. Run reports as needed.
- Work closely in a team environment and provide updates while building knowledge of Firm and client processes.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with a Family Law caseload in Florida. (REQUIRED)
- Be Fluent in Spanish.
- Self-motivated, Self-starter.
- Strong Organizational Skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle high volume caseload while maintaining a high level of productivity.
- Be comfortable with "paperless" procedures.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to Multi-task in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
- Meets assigned deadlines and communicates case progress/status/issues head attorney.
- Demonstrate flexibility and initiative regarding assignments for self and team.
- Ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
