Responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee hands-on maintenance and repairs throughout the property
- Lead, train, and support a team of engineers, setting daily priorities and expectations
- Troubleshoot HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, kitchen equipment, and life-safety systems
- Ensure preventative maintenance programs are completed consistently and accurately
- Respond to maintenance requests and on-call emergencies
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized services and repairs
- Monitor inventory, order parts and supplies, and manage maintenance-related expenses
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements
- Support fire/life safety inspections and corrective actions
- Maintain work order documentation and maintenance records
- Communicate maintenance needs, risks, and priorities to hotel leadership
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of hands-on engineering experience with prior team leadership responsibility
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and general building systems
- Experience supervising or leading engineers or maintenance technicians
- Ability to balance hands-on work with team oversight and accountability
- Strong troubleshooting, time-management, and communication skills
- Experience working with vendors and service providers
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements
- Technical certifications or trade education preferred
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the property for extended periods
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders and access rooftops, mechanical rooms, and confined spaces
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs
