Emergency Veterinary Technician/ assistant (Full-Time)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to animals while assisting veterinarians in various clinical tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of animal physiology and anatomy, as well as the ability to perform laboratory procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment for both patients and staff.

Duties

• Perform animal restraint techniques to facilitate examinations and treatments.
• Conduct routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis,
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each animal treated.
• Provide basic animal husbandry care, including feeding, grooming, and monitoring health status.
• Prepare animals and monitor them for surgery
• Catheter placement
• Calculate drug dosages

Requirements

• Current veterinary technician license or minimum of 3 years veterinary experience.
• Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices.
• Familiarity with aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures is highly desirable.
• Ability to effectively restrain animals safely during examinations or treatments.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
• A passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing exceptional care.
• Experience with exotics a plus but not required
