Mountain Cement Company, a subsidiary of Eagle Materials is seeking to hire laborers.
Under the immediate supervision of an assigned supervisor, the laborer performs miscellaneous tasks (generally requiring an extended physical effort) that aid in the daily operations of a cement plant. This job is extremely physical.
Laborers perform departmental and general plant cleanup work including clearing spilled and accumulated waste materials from and around machinery, buildings, yard, etc. Must be able to shovel and sweep raw material for up to 7 hours a day.
Laborers assist in plant repairs and outages including handling materials such as refractory brick, grinding media, chains, etc.
Laborers also perform basic gardening work such as cutting weeds, grass, shrubbery, etc.
Laborers perform other duties as assigned.
The position may require working eight, ten, or twelve-hour shifts as directed by management. Required work may be in areas of extreme heat, cold, and dusty conditions for extended periods of time. Travel ways may include stairs, catwalks, ladders, elevated walkways, unleveled floors, and may require repeated trips up and down several times during a shift.
TOOLS: Picks, shovels, wheelbarrows, bars, pneumatic tools, sledgehammers, brooms, mowers, etc. Training and use of forklifts, skid steer loader, vacuum truck, backhoe, dump truck, aerial platform, and street sweeper.
