Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Civil / Coastal Professional Engineer (PE) to join our Engineering Division. This role is ideal for a technical expert or project manager with strong experience in coastal and civil works, who thrives in multidisciplinary environments and is motivated by complex coastal challenges and client-focused solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Bachelorโs degree in Civil Engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of California
- Authorized to work in the United States
Experience
- 5โ10 years of professional civil/coastal engineering experience
- Strong experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D (design & drafting)
- Proven experience with coastal projects such as:
- Marinas, piers, seawalls, docks, ramps
- Erosion protection and coastal studies
Key Technical Skills & Experience
- Hydraulic modeling of surface and subsurface drainage systems
- Design of:
- Water distribution systems
- Sanitary sewer and wastewater conveyance systems
- Pump stations (design & rehabilitation)
- Wastewater treatment plants
- Sewer rehabilitation and replacement
- Roadway restoration and utility relocation
- Preparation of construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates
- Erosion and sediment control design
- Permitting and coordination with California Coastal Commission and local agencies
- Familiarity with coastal development permits and procedures
Typical Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide engineering services for planning, design, and delivery of coastal and civil projects
- Prepare coastal studies including sea-level rise analysis, wave run-up, and design storm evaluations
- Serve as Project Manager for municipal and private coastal development projects
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budgets
- Perform civil and structural design calculations
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams
- Participate in public meetings and stakeholder engagement
- Maintain client satisfaction and project quality standards
- Support workplace safety initiatives and company policies
