All My Children Daycare is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and loving assistant teacher to join our team.
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To develop and implement an ongoing program of activities that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child enrolled in a group
- Create and maintain a safe and stimulating environment for young children (ages 0-5)
- Teach early childhood education classes that are developmentally appropriate
- Provide information to parents regarding child development and engaging parents in child’s educative process
- Model support and respect for All My Children Day Care and Nursery Schools Agency efforts
Qualifications Skills and Knowledge
Required: high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Associates Degree in Early Childhood or CDA Certificate Prefered
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assistant Teacher shall be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and be working towards obtaining a Child Development Associate (CDA) certification or a study plan leading to an associate’s degree in early childhood education
- It is helpful to have experience working in an early childhood setting
- Be warm and loving with a positive attitude and appreciation of children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the Teacher, children and program
- Ability to work respectfully with persons from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
- Ability to organize and reflect teaching goals and progress in documentation: lesson plans, assessments and evaluations
- Ability to engage children in developmentally appropriate ways ( also including addressing children at eye level, sitting with children on the floor, engaging children in play and conversation)
- Ability to attend to daily tasks as an educator
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.88 - $18.00 per hour
