Job Summary:

The Shipping Clerk role is responsible for timely and organized outgoing shipping of products from All Seasonings Ingredients in coordination with the Senior Shipping Clerk. Responsible for ensuring all outgoing orders are complete and in good order, generating all UPS, FedEx, or USPS shipping labels, and confirming all shipping has occurred to communicate with other departments as needed. This position also works as a Labelist in the Label Room team as needed and based on the volume of shipping work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Obtain and process product orders, including outgoing shipping, and confirm orders are complete and in good order before sending them out
• Schedule shipments and execute daily shipments and pickups from customers
• Coordinate with Senior Shipping Clerk, Label Room Supervisor, and Logistics Coordinator on larger shipping tasks as needed
• Ensuring the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of shipments
• Monitoring shipments, costs, timelines, and productivity
• Addressing and resolving shipment and inventory issues
• Working as a Labelist, encompassing the duties assigned to that role, including concisely labeling products by hand, compiling orders, and verifying details of completed orders as needed
• Act as a Labelist, performing hand-labeling, pallet stacking, and organizing customer orders on an as-needed basis, or between shipping tasks

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -

• Show initiative and judgment in making decisions and multitasking

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with diverse personalities
• Requires ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and apply judgment in interactions with internal staff, customers, and vendors
• Possess a strong sense of urgency and the ability to work in a very high-volume environment with the ability to manage multiple tasks

Experience, Education, and Training -

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Computer Skills - daily use of Microsoft applications, Sage 100, web browsers, and internal company computer programs
• Strong skills in Microsoft applications with a willingness to learn advanced skills as appropriate:
• Outlook (email, calendar, contacts, distribution lists)
• Excel (spreadsheets, formulas, converting)
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Flexible and able to work in a high-volume environment, manage multiple projects, and able to plan time effectively to meet challenging deadlines.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is subject to the following requirements:

• To see, talk, and hear
• The employee is required to stand for up to 8 hours and use their hands and fingers to handle, feel, or type
• The employee is also required to walk, reach with arms and hands, climb mezzanine stairs multiple times per day, balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• The employee is required to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Strong aromas of spice, allergens, and particles in the air
