Hourly Rate: $38 - $45, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

We're seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our team. This role is vital in maintaining accurate financial records and providing insightful financial reporting to support our business goals.
Position Summary:
As our Staff Accountant, you'll oversee various aspects of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Your expertise will contribute to the smooth operation of our accounting systems and the continuous improvement of our financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
● Maintain A/R and A/P records; perform reconciliations and analysis as needed.
● Address customer, vendor, and employee inquiries related to invoices, expenses, and check requests.
● Manage A/P checks, payments, and assist in A/R-related reconciliations and disputes.
● Record weekly income/expenses and prepare weekly cash flow statements and monthly projections.
● Compile and report weekly financial and operational key performance indicators.
● Accurately post transactions to the General Ledger, ensure accuracy, and perform reconciliations.
● Calculate and process bi-weekly payroll, oversee expense reimbursement, and report.
● Conduct monthly and yearly close-out procedures for A/R, A/P, Inventory, Asset and Expense accounts.
● Prepare 1099s, other tax-related reports, and submit filings.
● Assist in monthly financial report preparation and support budget development.
● Collaborate on accounting-related projects and improve processes as needed.
● Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience.
● 1-2 years of accounting experience, ideally with mainstream accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks) or ERP systems.
● Experience with or willingness to learn Sage software.
● Strong math skills for calculating figures like discounts, interest, and percentages.
● Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Training Required:
New hires will receive training on Sage 100 Contractor, including working through standard operating procedures, attending webinars, and collaborating with knowledgeable team members.
Competencies:
● Working knowledge of GAAP bookkeeping and GL practices.
● Understanding of budgetary forecasting is a plus.
● Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
● Ability to ensure work accuracy and maintain high standards.
● Willingness to support others and seek guidance when necessary.
Physical Requirements:
● Occasionally required to stand or walk.
● Frequently required to sit, use hands for dexterity, and communicate verbally.
● Visual acuity required for reading and keyboard use.
