What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Receptionist position at Allegheny Veterinary Associates?
Allegheny Veterinary Associates is looking for a Veterinary Receptionist to join our team! We are a multi-doctor, small animal hospital that has proudly served Pittsburgh for years.
This is a full-time or part-time, Monday-Friday role (8 hour shifts) with weekends off.
Requirements:
- Preference will be given to candidates with animal-related experience; however, we’re also open to training individuals who love animals and have great customer service skills
- Takes pride in being punctual, dependable, and reliable
- Self-starters who take initiative and pay close attention to detail
- Compassionate team players who have excellent communication skills
- Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs
- Passion for veterinary medicine
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Client service and communication
- Welcoming and discharging patients
- Collaboration with other team members
- Managing phone lines
- Booking appointments
- Setting up new clients and patients
- Over-the-counter sales
- Financial transactions
- General front desk duties (email, faxing, filing, etc.)
- Ensuring that the reception area of the hospital is always clean and presentable
- Attention to detail and awareness of surroundings
- Willingness to noticing areas of need within the practice and assist
