Allegiance Mobile Health of San Antonio, TX is looking to hire EMT Candidates for class beginning September 2025. This position is for EMT classes and earns $11.00/hour for time attended.
SUMMARY: We are seeking motivated and committed individuals to join our EMT Candidate Program. The EMT Candidate is a pre-certified or newly enrolled individual working under supervision while actively pursuing their Texas EMT-B certification. This role supports EMS operations through observation, non-clinical duties, classroom participation, and clinical exposure. EMT Candidates are expected to transition into certified EMT-Basic roles upon successful completion of the course, certification, and onboarding. Allegiance Mobile Health requires a one-year employment commitment following certification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Responsibilities include, but are not limited to)
• Participate in classroom education, skills labs, and certification coursework.
• Complete clinical rotations in hospital and field settings.
• Observe EMS operations through supervised ride-alongs.
• Assist with station duties, equipment checks, and resupply tasks.
• Adhere to Allegiance Mobile Health policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
• Maintain professionalism and accountability as a representative of the organization.
• Successfully complete National Registry and Texas DSHS EMT certification requirements.
• Complete all required reading, assignments, quizzes, and exams in accordance with program guidelines.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain equipment in clean, working condition.
• Exhibit respectful and appropriate behavior in classroom and clinical settings.
• Performs other projects as assigned.
WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
• Classes will be held during the week (Monday-Friday).
• Clinicals will be scheduled after course work is complete. Clinicals may be held on any day and at any hour to reflect practical shift experiences. This may include evenings, weekends, or holidays.
• May involve exposure to outdoor elements, bodily fluids and emotionally intense scenes.

• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and organizational habits.
• Ability to handle physical tasks and high-stress environments.
• Desire to serve and support community emergency medical needs.
• Must be enrolled in or accepted into an ALLMH EMT-Basic academy.
• Minimum age: Turn 18 years old prior to course completion.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass all pre employment and onboarding requirements

• Hold and maintain a valid Texas driver's license and insurable driving record. If you are not currently a TXDL holder, you must obtain by the end of the course.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Current AHA BLS CPR certification.
• Prior experience in healthcare, public safety, or community service.
