What are the responsibilities and job description for the Designer/Drafter position at Alliance Construction & Design?
Position Summary:
Designer/drafter is responsible for design and development of plans for the construction or modification of commercial, residential, agricultural, or industrial buildings. In addition, the drafter/designer is responsible for designing, planning, and drafting specifications for alterations and repair of existing structures or new building construction projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to efficiently produce architectural and structural plans with details
- Obtain state approvals
- Obtain necessary permits
- Obtain and review approval drawings,
- Assist Project Manager with onsite questions
- Attend job handoff with project manager and salesperson
- Attend approval meetings
- Ability to field measure a project
Qualifications/Requirements:
For consideration, the preferred candidate needs:
- Minimum 2 Year Associate Degree in construction related field, and/or 5 years of similar experience with general knowledge of commercial construction
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with REVIT, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of current codes including IBC 2015, Energy Codes, and Wisconsin UDC.
- Ability to converse in verbal and written communications
- Ability to manage workloads that require deadlines
