Responsibilities
One of our clients has over 100 different locations and approximately 39,000 employees and contractors who have a budget of $4 billion annually. Within the information technology division (ITD) is the infrastructure and network engineering group. The agency is anticipating the need to add 1 to 3 additional network engineers for its offices in Austin and Huntsville Texas. The initial term of the contract will require the individual to be in the office for training and orientation, but remote work will be considered after this period. This is anticipated to be a long-term engagement.
The client is going through an initial screening which may include a brief introductory discussion, prior to a more formal detailed interview

Demonstrated understanding of network technologies and protocols

Networking experience with Cisco routers/switches/firewalls

Experience implementing and maintaining network technologies in a mixed vendor environment

Knowledge pertaining to Wide Area Connected Remote Sites (T1/Ethernet/AVPN/Dedicated Ethernet/Dedicated Internet)

Knowledge with end-user network security and access technologies (Fire Sight/Sourcefire/Advanced Malware Protection)
5
Knowledge with network protocols OSPF/BGP/IP/DHCP/ARP and troubleshooting with packet sniffers

Knowledge with multi-platform network integrated systems (Microsoft Active Directory/Security Groups)

Knowledge pertaining to all aspects of Local Area Network connections to include: VLAN/Port Aggregation/802.1x/ (Layer 1 Cat5/Cat5e/Cat6e cabling and connectivity)

Knowledge pertaining to authentication (AAA) protocols: TACACS /RADIUS/SAML

Knowledge with Data Encryption/Access-Lists/Route-Maps and Get VPN
