AllPro Government is currently hiring in the Memphis area for an experienced Pathology Assistant with at least 1 year work experience.
This assignment is a Government Contract and will need to follow Federal policies (i.e. – background and drug-screening).
Facility: Federal Health Care Hospital Laboratory
Location: Memphis, TN
Available Shifts: Monday through Friday
Rate: $30-32 p/hr (depending on certifications and years of experience)
Certificate/License:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in an academic field related to health science or allied sciences appropriate to the work of a histopathology technologist.
- Successful completion of Pathologist's Assistant training Program
- 2-years of post-certification experience within the last 5-years as a certified pathology assistant
- Bachelor's Degree (Required)
- ASCP Certification (Preferred)
- BLS (AHA ONLY) (Required)
Job Description:
Under the direction and supervision of a pathologist, a pathologists' assistant may provide the following:
- Preparation, gross description and dissection of human tissue surgical specimens
- Preparation of human postmortem examinations
- Instruction of anatomy and physiology, gross pathology, photography and gross dissection skills for surgical specimens as well as autopsy techniques
- Training of pathology residents/fellows, pathologists' assistant students and other pathology lab personnel (as needed)
- Research, procurement of samples for bio-specimen banking
- Performance of administrative, teaching, and other such duties as may be appropriate and assigned.
