Job Overview
As a Lead Technician, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and guiding a team of technicians in providing exceptional care and environmental enrichment activities for NHPs in our care.
JOB SUMMARY:
Enrichments Technicians conduct daily observations of NHP’s and prepare environmental enrichment according to established protocol.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enrichment Technician must be able to perform the following tasks with minimum supervision:
· Look out for diseased or injured animals and immediately report to veterinary division
· Keep records of various husbandry tasks performed
· Follow Standard Operating Procedures of the facility
· Prepare, clean and give out enrichment items when needed
· Receive weekly enrichment food orders and determine need for changes in order
· Must be available to work weekends and holidays when needed
· Must be team oriented, and willing to work across institutional divisions in a professional and courteous manner
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise a team of 2-4 technicians
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
· Good organizational skills
· Basic verbal, written, and math skills
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Ability to work unsupervised
EDUCATION:
High School diploma/GED
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
South Carolina Driver’s License or equivalent
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be able to read and write, and interpret documents including task descriptions, standard operating procedures, and other instructions.
REASONING ABILITY:
Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
