Field Supervisor

Description

Job Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in new construction, siding, roofs, shingles, gutter installation, and maintenance of existing builds/ clients grounds by performing the following duties.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• No direct reports, but indirectly oversees subcontractors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspects work areas to determine the type of work required and materials and equipment to be used.
• Directs workers in projects such as installing, repairing, and removing siding and shingles, and metal roofs.
• Maintains project/job-specific scheduling.
• Coordinates roofing materials drop-offs/ pickups.
• Sources and recruits labor Crews.
• Verifies material orders (accuracy/amounts).
• Communicates changes to field projects to Scheduling Dept. As needed.
• Performs pre-and post-inspections.
• Interprets and enforces safety regulations.
• Interprets job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of work.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the work crew.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Maintains time and production records.
• Performs activities of crew workers supervised as needed.
• Review and approve all subcontractor invoices.
• Request and obtain VPOs.
• Travels to other markets/ job locations as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Thorough understanding of the home building process, specifically siding.
• Thorough understanding of construction industry safety and health laws, regulations, and policies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

• 2-5 years of experience in the construction industry required.
• 2 years of roofing experience is preferred.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
• Bachelors's degree is a plus and preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50-85 pounds at times.
• Must be able to climb a ladder and traverse roof at times.
• Must be able to access and navigate all areas of a construction site in various types of weather.
