What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Technician position at Alphia?
We are currently seeking a Sanitation Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe manufacturing environment by performing various cleaning tasks and reporting signs of pests. This is a full-time position, with opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.
Essential Job Duties:
- Empty trash
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, and sanitize floors and stairs
- Wash walls
- Clean and sanitize equipment, forklifts and tanks
- Operate the floor scrubber
- Learn and report signs of insects or rodents
- Perform overhead cleaning of piping and equipment
- May drive forklift or use pallet jack to move pallets
- May lock out and tag out equipment
- Follow work instructions and SOP’s
- Various other duties as assigned by Sanitation Lead or Food Safety Manager
Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or a GED
- Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
- Must be comfortable getting dirty
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive motions
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to work in a hot and humid environment
