Veterinary Assistant

Alpine Animal Clinic has a new opportunity for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team.

Individuals with strong customer service skills and a love for animals and encouraged to apply! This is a full-time (4-10s or 5-8s) role, comprised of flexible weekday scheduling and rotating weekend coverage.

Primary skills/responsibilities:

This person will be responsible for collaborating with our DVM team and technical staff to manage exam rooms and outpatients, execute treatment plans, and assist with procedures. Additionally, the employee will receive comprehensive training to become a skilled surgery and emergency technician, enhancing their ability to support critical and complex cases. Primary responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming and discharging patients
• Client communication and education
• Assisting in exams
• Patient handling and restraint
• Administering vaccines and medications
• Blood draws and IV catheter placement
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Outpatient procedures
• Microscopic evaluation
• Pharmacy duties
• Collaboration with other team members
• Managing phone lines
• Setting up new clients and patients
• Financial transactions
• General front desk duties (email, faxing, filing, etc.)

Prior veterinary experience will be given priority but all candidates with relevant skills will be considered.

Full-time benefits and compensation:

• Competitive pay: $16.00 - $19.00/hour (based on experience)

Experience:

• Veterinary experience: 1 year (Required)
