Job Purpose: The Direct Support Professional is responsible for supervising and teaching individuals as assigned at work, volunteer sites, the community, and in the Center.
Job Requirements & Skills
Some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling, fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires sitting, walking and standing. The employee must have the strength and agility to assist with movement of learners during crisis intervention
Clearances: DDD Criminal Background Fingerprint Check, Mantoux TB Test, CARI, Check, Citizenship Status (I-9), Drug Screening, Motor Vehicle Check Schedule: Part-time Monday - Friday 8:00-4:00

Job Purpose: The Direct Support Professional is responsible for supervising and teaching individuals as assigned at work, volunteer sites, the community, and in the Center.
Job Requirements & Skills
- Be of good moral character
- Ability to successfully complete the Alpine Learning Group training program
- Good communication skills
- Proficient with educational technology
- Ability to work with diverse individuals and needs
- Maintain confidentiality
- Supervises assigned learners throughout the day
- Implements instructional programs
- Provides job coaching at Supported Employment/Volunteer sites
- Transports individuals to/from community sites (e.g., employment, volunteer, daily living activities)
- Conducts discrete trials
- Performs chaining techniques in order to teach more complex tasks
- Executes prompting (e.g., modeling, manual guidance, verbal)
- Provides incidental teaching learning opportunities
- Provides systematic desensitization exposures
- Collects, summarizes, and reports data
- Manages problem behaviors and implements behavior reduction programs
- Reports emergencies and injuries as per ALG policies and procedures
- Attends staff meetings and in-service training sessions (including crisis intervention).
- Recommends materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Carries out other duties as may be requested by the Clinical Supervisors
- Contributes to the overall development of instructional and treatment programs
- High School Diploma
- Experience working with adult learners with disabilities (preferred)
- Experience working with learners with autism (preferred)
- Valid NJ driver’s license
