In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for driving sales in food service and retail markets, meeting sales budgets, conducting weekly sales calls, actively pursuing the opening of new accounts, and leading the creation and implementation of a robust sales process and CRM system.
Responsibilities
Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to penetrate nationwide food service and retail markets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to open new accounts and expand our customer base.
- Lead sales efforts in food service establishments (restaurants, hotels, catering businesses) and retail markets (supermarkets, specialty stores).
- Proactively identify and target potential food service and retail accounts, initiate contact, and nurture relationships to secure new business opportunities.
- Take ownership of achieving monthly and annual sales budgets, employing a data-driven approach to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with critical food service and retail clients.
- Provide exceptional customer service and address any issues promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels.
- Conduct regular sales calls to potential and existing customers.
- Present product offerings, discuss promotions, and explore opportunities for collaboration.
- Design and implement a comprehensive sales process outlining the steps from lead generation to closing deals.
- Streamline sales activities, set performance metrics, and train the sales team on the new process.
- Evaluate, select, and implement a suitable CRM system to streamline sales data, track customer interactions, and enhance sales team productivity.
- Stay current with industry trends, competitor activities, and food service and retail customer preferences.
- Utilize market insights to develop tailored sales strategies.
- Deepen your knowledge of our specialty food products.
- Effectively communicate product features, benefits, and unique selling points to customers.
- Prepare and present sales reports, analyzing performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of sales strategies.
- Make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
- Attend trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings as required to network, expand business opportunities, and represent Alta Gama Foods in the food service and retail sectors.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Relevant experience in sales within the food industry will also be considered.
- Proven track record in sales, preferably with experience in the food service and retail sectors.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Goal-oriented and self-motivated, with a drive to meet and exceed sales targets consistently.
- Analytical mindset to interpret sales data and identify trends to drive strategic decision-making.
- Experience in creating and implementing sales processes and CRM systems.
- Willingness to travel for business meetings and industry events as necessary.
