What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Technician /Behavioral Health Tech (7a-3p shift) position at Alternative Care Services?
Dacotah Foundation ACS is currently seeking part time staff for first shift (7a-3p) every other weekend. There is potential for hours during the week depending on availability and cross-training.
Alternative Care Services is an energetic, fast-paced, short-term stay residential facility for individuals struggling with the symptoms of their mental health or substance use disorders combined with a walk-in triage center for individuals needing immediate assessment and referral for their mental health needs.
Alternative care services provides a shared home-like environment with 15 beds for individuals to receive monitoring, support, and services that will improve the symptoms and management of their mental illness or substance use concerns. Staff work closely with all the clients staying in the residential facility to monitor for safety, provide verbal and emotional support, provide and engage in social and recreational activities, assist in progress towards the goals of their stay, provide emergency interventions or de-escalation if needed, and engage in positive activities while providing strong role modeling and mentoring to the individuals we serve.

HS diploma or GED and valid drivers license required. Criminal background checks are completed.
Starting wage is $15.50/hr, with raises to $16.25 after all training requirements are complete. There is a $0.50 pay differential/increase for hours worked from Fri 6pm-Mon 7am totaling $16.75 (with complete training).
