Job Description
Paraprofessionals assist teachers in the classroom, provide support for teaching, and work directly with students. Paraprofessionals may also listen to students practice reading aloud, help students understand and complete their assignments, and/or supervise students outside of the classroom. Paraprofessionals work closely with their teacher as well as their mentor to ensure that students’ needs are being met within the classroom. Days will be Monday-Thursday and hours and specific job details will be discussed in more detail during the interview.
Performance Requirements: (included but not limited to the following)
- Experience with students preferred
- Degree encouraged but not required
- Familiarity with charter school concepts and philosophy
- Willingness to collaborate with a team and remain open-minded to new and innovative ways of teaching.
- Must have a strong background in instructional technology along with the ability to differentiate instruction to ensure all students learn.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative and quality relationships with others: contributes to the development of a positive school climate.
- Abide by the Code of Ethics for the Teaching Profession as established by the Idaho State
Board of Education.
- Adhere to confidentiality with regard to student information.
- Establish and maintain good work habits including punctuality.
- Must be able to communicate proficiently in English, both verbal and written communication. Also, the ability to speak and communicate clearly in lessons to students, as well as with peers, supervisors, patrons, and parents/guardians.
