Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM; Weekend and/or Holiday Rotation; Rotating Shifts

WHAT WILL YOU DO
This individual is responsible for performing specimen verification for every specimen received into the department. He/she will perform specimen bar-coding, patient registration and accessioning into different LIS systems for Soft. He/she will pour off specimen for ancillary testing as needed. He/she will troubleshoot specimen issues for items such as patient identification on specimen containers/requisitions and/or insurance. This individual may place multiple phone calls a day and will be responsible for following the AIDET guidelines. He/she will complete proper documentation of specimen issues. Clerical duties include the filing of specimen logs. This individual shall maintain a healing environment for employees and patients with a spirit of caring and concern as incorporated in the philosophy of our Catholic healthcare systems while performing all job functions.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous laboratory data entry experience preferred.
Keyboarding skills required.
