As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, you will be the first responder for hands-on electrical and mechanical operations and troubleshooting. Your responsibilities will cover a wide range of critical equipment, including standby diesel generators, switchboards, UPS systems, and more. You’ll work on a rotating schedule, providing essential 24 / 7 coverage.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate and maintain essential mechanical, electrical, generator, and fire / life safety equipment within the data center.
- Troubleshoot and resolve facility equipment issues while adhering to internal service levels.
- Carry out maintenance tasks such as filter changes, HVAC preventive maintenance, and updates to rack power installations.
- Support Data Center Operations technicians and spearhead root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures during all tasks.
- Document procedures and maintain operational logs, including daily readings of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Utilize management software to oversee workflows and spare part inventories.
- Supervise contractors performing maintenance services.
- Respond to off-hour emergency scenarios as needed.
- Comply with physical security policies and procedures at all times.
- Drive innovation to reduce operational costs within the facilities.
